I have a older G72-227WM laptop Prod# XN517UA#ABA that will not load windows 10,it locks up. If I remove the battery and unplug the power cable,then put battery back in, plug it in and hit power button,it starts up normally. I tried HP's support site for updates for bios etc. Nothing came up

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows correctly.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
There are no drivers for Windows 10 from HP for your computer as it is pretty old. I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
