Pavilion g6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a Pavilion g6, model g6-2057ca, and the display is broken and I have been using it with an external screen for some time now. Tonight the fan was too noisy and I decided to clean it, as I frequently do, before I continued working.  However, when I turned it back on, I had no video and realized that the caps lock light blinked twice periodically. I found in the forums that it was due to a corrupt bios. I followed the steps, using windows key and V key, and it started without the capc lock blink. However, I still don't have any video. I'm assuming it won't output HDMI or VGA (tried both) in this restore stage. I need to find a way to do this "blindly" or get it to output HDMI or VGA, because I urgently need to finish my work. This is an emergency. Is there a key combination that I can do? Or how can I get video out? Buying a new screen is not an option at all, because I need to get  the job done in two days.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to HP support community.

Connect an external monitor and check if that works.

If that does not work, this could be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
