I'm using an HP laptop right now and willing to buy an HP elite c1030(i7 10610u, 16gb ram, 128m.2). I found it on sale for like 320$. The guy claims it has been only used for a month or so and I'm really so unsure because his store is on the other side of the country and it has to be delivered so I can't check it physically thoroughly. He claims that someone bought it from HP in the UK and shipped it to him, he used it for some time and now selling it because he needs money. His shop warranty is only a single week and the HP's warranty is a year. As he claims the laptop was bought in the UK and I'm in the middle east and they are no official HP repair centers around here, I'm positive the warranty is next to useless here, or is it not? The laptop also only comes with a small white box as packaging and that is it and I assume all new laptops come with a cartoon that has the company's logo, the model name and such. So this makes me doubt it even more.
How do I check if the everything he says is legit? if it is refurbished or something like that? Can the serial number help? I've already asked but I sense that it is a scam.
