Envy 360 Model: m6-w011dx P/N:M1V6OUA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Came back to running computer and wouldn't return from sleep/hibernation.  Power button will blink once when pressed and Cap Locks would blink every 2nd/3rd press of power btn.  Completely removed AC adapter and perform power drain, same condition.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for the reply Echo. This box will NOT power on or off.  I was working on the laptop, closed the cover and walked away. Next morning flipped the cover open and it would not come out of sleep/hibernate. In the past I would hold the power ban for 3 sec to shutdown then restart.  When I press the power ban this time it just flashed or blinked once.  I noticed every 2-3 presses of the power ban the Cap Lock ban would blink with the power btn.  I disconnected the main battery from everything and Iattempted to rest bios by pulling the cmos battery but couldn’t locate one, unless it’s under the MB. When I reassembled the box same issue, press power btn and it blinks once.  I don’t see the Cap Lock btn blinking now, yet the laptop will not power on.

please advise ASAP
