Laptop Not Charging

Example: HP 15-bs015dx Product ID: 1TJ82UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

 

I am having issue with my HP laptop. This laptop is around 3 and something years old, so it is already outside of warranty. I am having issue with charging. I have tested different charger, it still did not work, so I thought it is the port. I have ordered new port online, and replaced it when it arrived, however, that did not work either. I have tried it with both, battery connected and disconnected, nothing. After I plug the charger in the port, it should light up, but it doesn't. However, when I put the battery in, and try to turn on the pc, the port light lights up three times (it means battery is low), but that's it.

 

When I connected new port, I have only tried my old charger, because the one I tested before I just borrowed. So it still can be that the charger and port stopped working at the same time. 

 

The laptop was working fine, even without it being able to charge. 

 

I hope it is not motherboard, but I do not really know what else it can be. I am planning to try to stop at some store for diagnosis, but I am trying all I can before I do so.

@Dominik44, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

This seems like a hardware issue in the PC, let us run a diagnostics test to check the hardware components.

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. Perform System Test > Extensive test. Share the result

 

You may also run the battery test under the component test.

 

Refer to this document for more info. Also, try using different compatible AC adapter and check if the issue persists.
