I am planning to create a media server for my home.
Thought of installing Ubuntu server on my old laptop as it's not in use anymore, and the battery is dead, I assume.
So, I removed the battery and I plugged the AC adapter directly into the laptop, and pressed the power button, and selected USB Hard Disk as the boot device.
It shows the Ubuntu server installation menu and all, but as I'm going through the installation, the laptop suddenly Shuts Down.
Have cleared the vents, drained all electrostatic forces from the laptop and tried all
But the problem still pertains.
Sometimes, just sometimes, the charge light blinks continuously, and stops.

But I don't want to invest on a new battery now, so any help would be appreciated.
