HP pavilion
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When pressing the power button it comes on then within a second goes off. The laptop is on as I can hear it starting up and the fan runs louder than usual but there is nothing on the screen

UPDATE

I managed to get it to start by holding the windows and b button to do the bios startup.

The next day I started the laptop and it had the same problem. I tried windows and b again but nothing. I took the memory out and reinserted it and it started up. Next day it did it again and it worked by removing and reinserting the memory.

does anyone know why it’s doing this and what I can do to stop it?

@mlovell

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows normally.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the exact model of your computer?

I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
