Hello, So my CMOS battery tray broke and now my computer won’t power on I wanted to know if the CMOS battery is required for the computer to turn on. Also does the battery pack need to be in as I know in other computers you don’t need the battery pack in. For example when I plug my charger in the led telling you that the computer is plugged in does not come I was wondering if this might be the problem any help is greatly appreciated

CMOS battery in a laptop is only used to store the BIOS/UEFI settings when the laptop is powered off. If the battery dies, the laptop simply assumes the default BIOS/UEFI settings and boots normally. That will not prevent it from booting.
If there is no power \LED when the laptop is plugged into the charger then it is likely a failed motherboard -- and it is dead.
