Laptop on but no display

So everything works as normal other than the screen, I can do the window + b thing but that doesn't help, this randomly occurred after I had shutdown my laptop. The f5 key (the one that lights up my keyboard) isn't working which is weird as it always does. I've tried most solutions nothing has worked so far.

Have you tried an external monitor ?

I have tried connecting to my TV through HDMI, it normally just automatically displays my laptop on the screen (but not at the same resolution, just slightly off). But now it doesn't show anything.
