Hi @amar_kumar1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion 15 laptop's power light is continuously turning on and off when you try to switch it on, it could be indicative of a few potential issues. Here's a systematic approach to troubleshooting this problem.

Power Cycle the Laptop:

  • Disconnect the laptop from any power source.
  • Remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and the power adapter.
  • Try turning on the laptop.

Check the Power Adapter:

  • Ensure that the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Try using a different power outlet.
  • If possible, try using a different power adapter to rule out a faulty adapter.

Battery Issues:

  • If the laptop turns on with the power adapter but not with the battery, the battery might be faulty.
  • Try running the laptop with the battery removed and the power adapter connected.

Reseat RAM and Storage:

  • Disconnect the laptop from the power source and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Open the laptop’s back panel.
  • Carefully remove and reinsert the RAM and storage drive.
  • Reassemble the laptop and try turning it on.

BIOS Reset:

  • Sometimes, resetting the BIOS can help.
  • To do this, disconnect the power source, remove the battery (if removable), and locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard.
  • Remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes, then reinsert it.
  • Reassemble the laptop and try turning it on.

Check for Overheating:

  • Overheating can cause the laptop to power off intermittently.
  • Ensure that the laptop’s vents are not blocked and that the fans are working properly.
  • Consider cleaning the laptop’s internals if there’s a buildup of dust.

Inspect the Power Button:

  • There could be an issue with the power button itself.
  • Ensure that the button is not stuck and is functioning properly.

External Devices:

  • Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) from the laptop.
  • Sometimes, external devices can cause power issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
