Laptop screen is black power button blinking and a popping noise

Hp pavilion 15 not sure
I think it's OS is Windows 10, every time I switch on it starts to power on for a couple of seconds and then the light just starts flashing every 3 or so seconds and there is a popping noise. The screen stays black nothing changes with that. I have unplugged power cord and taken the battery out

Hi @JRamsay,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Pavilion 15 Notebook and a snapping or popping happening with the screen staying black. I recommend that you rollback the BIOS. This code indicates corrupt BIOS.

This will show you how to do that.

Please get back to me how this goes.
