Hey,

So, I've had some issues with my HP laptop (loud fans, apparently decreasing processor efficiency) but till now it's been working okay overall. However, since last week, it's been having a very weird issue. For some reason, as soon as the power cord is unplugged, it dies. I'd like to call it a shut-down but that's not what it is - it just totally dies.

The battery does not seem to be the issue - I ran hardware checks and it tests as healthy, and it's charged to a 100%. So I thought it might be a software issue. Now, I have no installed any new software recently, but it received the Windows 10 1809 updates a few days before it started exhibiting these issues. There were different updates numbered 1809, and I tried rolling back one of them but it didn't make a difference.

The day after that, it received the 1903 feature update. I thought 'hey that's nice, maybe that'll fix this'. But nope, same issue.

I've run multiple checks with the HP Hardware check, and it all tests out clean. I've checked the HP Support Assistant, and all the software on the system is up-to-date. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a hard reset (a la https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c01684768).

What gives?!

1. Tried the hard reset. It did not work.
