Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This problem apered after bios update on 11 june 2019.  After turning off the laptop, the screen turns black, the power button continues to light up, and the fans are working for 4-5 minutes aproximately then turns off. If I restart it the same proceses last aproximately 2 minutes and then it restarts.

Already tried:

Uptade bios once again

Update widows to 1903 version

Hello greetings

 

Tray the following options

. Download last BIOS and choose BIOS update option using USB pen drive

. Insert he USB pen drive with unit power off

. Press Win key + B + Power button

. Update the BIOS again

. If issue persists use the same method but using older BIOS version

Hello! Thank you for your answer but unfortunately it didn't help.

 

1. BIOS update file disapeared from log update (HP support assistant), so I can't download it again (2 pics attached)

2. I downloaded older version of BIOS for my laptop from HP support website and followed your instructions - didn't help. Screenshot attached

Create a USB recovery drive


Install a BIOS recovery file from the HP website using a USB flash drive. To complete this step, you need a second working computer with an active Internet connection.

Thanks for sharing the product details.

 

Try updating the BIOS to the latest version and check if it helps.

 

Update the BIOS using this link. Click Here

 

Disable Fast Startup and check if it works for you.

  1. Press Windows key and click Control Panel.
  2. Click on Power options.
  3. Click on Choose what the power buttons do.
  4. Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable. If it prompts to click on yes, then click Yes.
  5. Uncheck Turn on fast startup (Recommended)      under shutdown settings.
  6. Click Save changes to configure the settings.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

 

1.Press Windows Key + X then click on Command Prompt(Admin).
2.Now type the following in the cmd and hit enter:

Sfc /scannow
sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

3.Wait for the above process to finish and once done restart your PC.
