Well I am STILL in the presence of greatness! Question for you, and to help educate my brain... why does pulling the Cmos battery clear this password? I have looked on the web and it seems to have solved it for others... when I pulled it... it said cmos checksome was invalid or something like that... which is typical, then Press enter to reboot, but when you reboot it still had the password.. how would it retain that if the battery was out?

Hi,
The actual checksum is now stored in non-volatile memory - in older machines removing the rtc cell would reset this, but no longer.
