I have an envy laptop that I just bought less than a year ago. One day my laptop would not power up. There were no lights when plugged in. I have a voltmeter so I checked the outlet and power supply and they are working as normal. I read that batteries will cause this issue so the recommendation was to unplug the battery to see if that would fix the issue. I did that. The problem was fixed. I then bought a new battery to replace the old one. I just installed the new battery and everything went back to normal. The laptop booted up how it should. All the lights lit up how they should when plugged in. I went to reboot the laptop to do a thorough check on it and ....... once again. No lights, no power, nothing. Unplugging the battery and plugging it again “wakes up” the laptop but as soon as it is rebooted it goes back to no power. What’s going on?
