My laptop power light turns on, but won’t boot.  I already tried taking the battery out and power cord, and power button reset. The Caps Lock button flashes slowly, but doesn’t stop flashing.  I tried to reset the memory, by removing and putting them back.  Can some please help me.  Thank you.

Hi @Chipperone

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Were there any recent hardware or software changes made to the computer?

While you respond to that, try these steps -

Step 1 Hard Reset -

1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Remove the Battery.
4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer.
6) Try to turn on the computer.

Step 2 BIOS Restore -

1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Hold down the Windows and B button together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B button until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow on-screen instructions and click on OK

Step 3 System Test -

1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once.
4) Go to System test.

If the issue still persists, you may refer to the steps mentioned in this guided troubleshooter - HP PCs - No Power or No Boot Troubleshooting

Let me know how that goes.

Thank you for the suggestions.  I tried all three, but None of them worked.  Could it be hardware related?  Or do you have other suggestions?

@Chipperone

Thanks for trying. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
