Hello,

 

My laptop (HP Pavilion 15-p003na Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)) will not turn on - or off. The power button is flashing white every four seconds for about half a second. Pressing and holding power for over a minute does nothing, the flashing continues. I have tried having it running from battery, disconnecting the battery and running the power out then reconnecting the battery, and running only off mains - in all situations, the blinking continues and there is no change. The only time the blinking stops is when it is completely without power from either mains or battery, or when I first plug the power supply in without turning on - as soon as I press on, the blinking re-starts.

 

I can hear nothing happening inside the laptop which would indicate it doing anything - just the blinking. Before this started I heard a whirring-beep, which I assume was something bad happening. It is a very old laptop and I know it needs replaced, but I would ideally like to be able to boot it up one more time to make sure I have copies of everything on it.
