Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought my computer about a month ago, I love it but I noticed on my lock screen when I open it everything is the way I set it but it always says "Washington DC" and for the life of me I can't seem to get rid of it and have my own location.

I also was curious to know is there a way to make the keyboard stay lit?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.👻

@Lindam1962 Welcome to HP Community!

I suggest you check if you have set the correct time and date. Also, please ensure that you have set the region correctly. To set you region, please follow the below steps.

1. Press Windows key + I key> Time and Language.

2. There select Region and Language> Region> Select your region.

And then, check if it works fine, if the issue persists, please try the below steps:

  • Open the Weather app, If it's the first time, it will give the option to detect your location or use the default location you've set.
  • If the location has not been set in the app, it will show Washington D.C.

Also, about the backlight, if supported by your model: click here for steps.
