Hi @Prerna2083
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your laptop is experiencing a power-related issue, possibly tied to the battery or charging system. Let’s work through some steps to identify and resolve the problem:
Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off your laptop completely.
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, peripherals, etc.).
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the charger (and battery, if applicable) and try turning on the laptop.
Step 2: Check the Charger and Port
- Inspect the charger for any visible damage or frayed wires.
- Ensure the charging port on your laptop is clean and free of debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean it gently.
- If possible, test with a different charger to rule out issues with the current one.
Step 3: Run Battery Diagnostics
- Turn on your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to access the Startup Menu.
- Select F2 to run System Diagnostics.
- Perform a Battery Test to check its health. If any issues are detected, note them down.
Step 4: Update BIOS and Drivers
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your laptop model (HP 15S FR1002TU).
How to Update BIOS Software on Windows PCs | HP® Tech Takes - Download and install the latest BIOS update and battery-related drivers.
- Restart your laptop after the updates.
Step 5: Reset Power Management Settings
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Batteries and right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
- Select Uninstall device and restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Step 6: Test Without the Battery (Optional)
- If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it and connect the charger directly.
- Turn on the laptop to see if it operates without the battery. If it does, the battery may need replacement.
I hope these steps help you get closer to resolving the problem. Let me know how it goes or if you need further guidance! 😊
