My daughter's Chromebook no longer starts. He does not show any manner of life.
No light comes on when on the charger
Tried different chargers.
Checked current charger on other system. No issue with charger.

Hi @Richard87526381,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Chromebook X360 14 Inch is not showing any signs of life, even when using different chargers and confirming that the charger works on other systems, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take.
Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the charger from the Chromebook.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and attempt to turn on the Chromebook.
Inspect Power Button and Connection:
- Ensure that the power button is not stuck or damaged.
- Check for any loose connections, both on the Chromebook and the charger port.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the Chromebook for any physical damage, especially around the power button, charging port, and other critical components.
Battery Issue:
- If possible, remove the battery (if it's removable) and then reconnect it. This step may not be applicable for all Chromebook models, as some have non-removable batteries.
Perform a System Recovery:
- If the Chromebook has a reset hole, you might want to try using a paperclip to press the reset button.
- Refer to the user manual or HP's support documentation for instructions on how to perform a system recovery or reset for your specific model.
Check for LED Indicators:
- Some Chromebooks have LED indicators that can provide information about the device's status. Check if there are any LEDs that should be on or blinking and refer to the user manual for their meanings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
