Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

My hp stream laptop 14-cb1xx running windows 10 home s mode crash during system reset. I am trying to install windows 10 home from a media and cannot boot from usb cd rom.

Hi, @sunnysub 

 

In order to boot from a DVD you need to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot.

 

See this general info link for the settings to change.

IMHO, it would have been easier for you to get an 8 GB flash drive and use the Media creation tool to create a bootable USB installation flash drive.

Your model also seems to be supported by the HP cloud recovery client utility to create recovery media.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 has a method to create a bootable USB.

 

ESC + F9 to choose the boot media?

 

Any particular error messages?
