My lap top won't turn on

HP Recommended
HP 15da0008ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Lap top was working fine. Using Battery mode and it ran out of power. When plugged in to charge it won't charge. No ligt to indicate that the laptop is powering up. Won't boot up. Have checked the power chord and it is working with the correct voltage passing through.

@DavieG

Sorry for the bad news, but some models HP laptops will simply not start with a dead battery.  I know because I have one of those and it happened to me when I put the laptop away for a couple of weeks and it was dead when I tried to turn it on.

I had to buy a new battery -- as that was the only way to get it working again.

To determine the cause with hardware failures, you have to be able run diagnostics. We have no way of accessing your PC from here, so we can not do that for you. You have to do it yourself.

You do this by pressing the Esc key repeatedly when rebooting and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, selecting Diagnostics (usually F2) and letting it run.

If it is NOT possible to run diagnostics, or if that does not work, then there is NOTHING more you can do by yourself -- and there is NOTHING we can do because we have no way of accessing your PC from here to run diagnostics or repair hardware.

All you can do at this point is get a new battery and see if that gets it booting again.  Be sure to buy it from a source where you can easily get a refund if that does not work.

Thanks for the help. I have taken it to an authorized repair centre who are running diagnostics. My description of the problem seemed to prompt the same response from the techs as you. Battery possibly dead. If that is the case and considering the laptop is 2.5 years old, it may not be worth it to get the work down. I'm already $70 out for the diagnostic.

To be honest of this is the case with some HP laptops it kinda puts me off the brand. I will probably look for a laptop that does not have these issues and also has a replaceable battery compartment.

Thanks again for your honest response.
