@JRPC2000, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 is getting stuck in BitLocker recovery even after entering the recovery key, you may need to proceed with the following steps:
Steps to Try:
Confirm Recovery Key:
- Ensure that the recovery key you are entering is correct. You can retrieve your recovery key from your Microsoft account by visiting the Microsoft recovery key page.
Check for Hardware Changes:
- Any recent hardware changes such as adding or removing components could trigger BitLocker recovery. If you have made changes, try reverting them and booting the laptop again.
BIOS Update:
Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve issues related to BitLocker recovery. Follow these steps to manually update the BIOS:
Download and install updates to the computer BIOS:
Prepare your computer for the BIOS update:
- Close any open applications.
- Temporarily disable your antivirus software.
- Suspend BitLocker drive encryption by searching for "Manage BitLocker" in Windows, clicking "Suspend protection," and then clicking "Yes."
Download BIOS update:
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Navigate to your product page.
- Select BIOS from the list and download the applicable update.
Install BIOS update:
- Browse to the folder where you saved the BIOS update file and double-click the file to start the installation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions which may include a restart and BIOS updates.
- After successful installation, resume BitLocker protection in Windows.
Using a Recovery Drive:
- If the steps above do not resolve the issue, creating and using a Microsoft Recovery USB drive may help. Follow the steps outlined in Creating and Using a Microsoft Recovery USB Drive.
I hope this helps.
