Hi @phamtatic,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Spectre laptop isn’t turning on, it could be due to several factors ranging from power issues to hardware malfunctions. Here’s a comprehensive guide to diagnose and troubleshoot the problem:
1. Check Power Supply
Verify Power Connection:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the laptop and the wall outlet.
- Try a different power outlet to rule out outlet issues.
Inspect Power Adapter and Cable:
- Check for any visible damage to the power adapter or cable.
- If possible, try using a different, compatible power adapter.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
Disconnect All Power Sources:
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Remove the battery (if removable).
Discharge Residual Power:
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds.
Reconnect and Restart:
- Reinsert the battery (if it was removed) and reconnect the power adapter.
- Try turning on the laptop.
3. Examine External Devices
- Disconnect Peripherals:
- Remove all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.).
- Attempt to start the laptop with no peripherals connected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
