Windows 7 Home Premier OA
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have a windows 7 HP.  Will not turn on or off.  F12 button is on, will not turn off and no screen (black).  Continually on unless I unplug.   Help ??

What model HP PC are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the model/product number of a HP Notebook. Click here if you are using a HP Desktop.

check if you have a light on the Power button. Also check if there is any damage/obstruction to the power button.

 

Power reset the PC, refer to the steps mentioned in this document.

 

Try accessing the BIOS screen and check if that works.

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer or unplug.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. Perform System Test > Quick test. Share the result.
