Non system disc erHP EliteBook 2530p

HP Recommended
EliteBook 2530p
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Please help! My Elitebook 2530p suddenly displays "non system disc or disc error, replace and strike any key when ready"

I have run the diagnistic test for hard drive, it failed. It said no drive found.

What can I do to fix this problem? Please help. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

You will need to replace the Hard Drive with a new one. You could also use a cheap 2.5" SSD.

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-BarraCuda-Internal-Drive-2-5-Inch/dp/B07H28QRKN/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&k...

On page 55 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02017504

You will then need to reinstall the OS. You can try recoverng data from the old drive using a USB to SATA cable.

Hope it helps,

David
