My wife's notebook computer will not power up.  Press the power button, the Wifi LED blinks once, then nothing.  D-E-A-D, Dead. I have gone through the complete guided troubleshooting process; removing battery, hold the power button down for 30 seconds, checking power supply/cord, swapping power supply/cord, etc.  No-go.  I have tried removing and re-seating memory/RAM. I have also tried RAM from my notebook. Still nothing.  Is the motherboard fried?

@Streittk Welcome to HP Forums Community!

If you've already checked with an alternate power cord, adapter and reseated the battery, yet the issue persists,
I suggest you perform a BIOS recovery considering there's a light on the wireless LED there's power being supplied and here's what you need to do:

  1. Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.

  2. Press and hold the Windows key  and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

If the above does nothing, I suggest you check with another wall outlet and let me know.
