Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A friend of mine asked me help with this notebook he bought on November 2019. It worked flawlessly until three days ago when he shut it down in the evening. He told me the shut down was "slow" and when he tried to power it on the following day nothing appened. Now I've the notebook and I see its power led slowly blinking. As per product documentation this is a sign the notebook is in suspension mode but there is no way to wake it up. I've tried every single key on the keybord, holding the power switch for a long period (up to a minute), I've aslo plugged an external HD and a power bank to the USB port (the disk don't spin and the bank is not charging). Nothing works.

One strange thing I've noticed is that the notebook screen seems to lit up slightly (barely noticeable) and then it gets darker again soon after each power led blink. Almost like the notebook is trying to boot up but then suddenly fails and the cycle repeats after a few seconds.

I've been unable to find any help on the support center so I'm asking the community for help. It would be greatly appreciated as my friend need this notebook on monday mornig for his job.

Thank you all.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you perform a Power drain first and then try getting to BIOS

 - Remove the Battery and plug in only the AC adapter.
- Turn on the Laptop without the Battery.
- while it's turning on remove the Ac adapter, this will force shut down the Laptop.
- Without the Ac adapter and Battery, press and hold the Power Button for 30 secs.
- Plug back everything and upon powering ON keep tapping on the F10 key till you see System Configuration Menu ( BIOS )

If you are unable to get to BIOS, please contact HP Support for Service Options

Hello,

I've already contacted HP Support and the notebook has been sent in for servicing as this seem a memory related issue.

Thank you for your reply anyway.
