OMEN Laptop 15-en0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got the OMEN just before Christmas and have been happily using it. Recently it started blue screening when trying to open Fortnite and I struggled to diagnose the issue. It's just blue screened now whilst I was typing in Signal, which makes me think the issue isn't Fortnite specific.

Recreation steps for the Fortnite-induced blue screen are:

1) Open the Epic Games Launcher

2) Open Fortnite

3) Blue screen and restart

I hadn't updated any drivers before receiving the blue screen but in my attempts to fix it, I've updated everything I can find (both the nvidia drivers and the other drivers listed by the HP Support Assistant)

In System Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings, I have:

* Automatically restart UNTICKED

* Write debugging information = Automatic memory dump

Despite the above two settings, the automatic restarts are still happening, and no memory dump is being created.

Looking for errors / critical issues in the event viewer, I can see an error "Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation." Given this, I don't have any dump files that I can share with you.

I would really appreciate any help / suggestions you have for fixing this issue - I hope that I've provided enough information for this to be meaningful to people who know more about computers than I do, but I'm happy to dig around and provide any extra information that will help. It pretty much happened that I closed Fortnite in the afternoon after a big losing streak and then when I opened it again in the evening, the blue screens started. I'm aware this might be my computer trying to tell me that a woman in her thirties shouldn't be playing Fortnite, but given the blue screen has now happened even while not using Fortnite, I think it's probably something else.

Thank you. 🙂
