Hi,

My laptop suddenly shut itself off and now it won't turn on or charge. I have tried removing the battery and pressing the power button for 10 seconds but it didn't help.

Hi,

Unfortunately I won't be at home for a week or so and will not be able to try these recommendations until I return. Thanks for the quick response though

Hi,

I'm with my laptop and can respond now.

1) The issue started around 2-3 weeks ago when the laptop suddenly switched itself off whilst I was playing a game. On one occasion the orange laptop charge light came on and the laptop itself switched on for about 5 minutes before switching itself off again.

2) No, no changes recently.

3. Nothing happens when I press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

4) No, no signs of power at all. Save for that one occasion I mentioned before.

Hi,

I've now tried the steps suggested but the laptop is still completely unresponsive. Won't charge or turn on.

Hello Oni1521,

your notebook might be damaged due to permanent overheating !

If your device is still under warranty, please contact HP !
