Password is incorrect when it is not, cannot get into my laptop

HP Recommended
intel core i5 7th gen
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

when i go to log into my computer i use the password i always have and it says the password is incorrect try again.  I tried rebooting it gets stuck at 88 percent and still wont let me login when it boots back up.  When i click reset password it tells me i need a flash drive, i put in a usb and then it tells me i must have first created a password reset disk...which i didnt.
