Pavilion x360 won't turn on

Pavilion x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi shut down laptop 2 hrs ago with a full charge now the power button doesn't work. When I plug it in the light next to charger comes on but won't switch on. It's only 3 months old. I saw a few fixes involving removal of the battery but that isn't possible with this model.

Pavilion x360 won't turn on

Hi,

For a x360, you can perform a hard reset when the machine is shut down by removing the AC Adapter and then holding down the power button continuously for 15 seconds.

Plug in the AC Adapter and then try starting.

If this doesn't work and as your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have it repaired - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here.

If you live in the US, contact HP Here.

If you are in another part of the world, start Here.

Regards,

DP-K

Pavilion x360 won't turn on

Hi

Thanks for the mail. I did try that, but to no avail. It's a 15-P078sa model if that would make any difference.

Yesterday it worked, it's not been moved, but today, nothing...

ANything else i could try at all?

Cheers!

Pavilion x360 won't turn on

We had an x360 that did the same thing.  Pressing the power button does absolutely nothing.  A friend had a similar experience and the fix was surprising.  Plug in the power cord, open the lid, wait about an hour until the light by the power port comes on (it wouldn't light up before).  Then press the power button.  The laptop seems to work fine now.

Pavilion x360 won't turn on

I'm having this issue right now. I just used my laptop last night and when I went to turn it on today, nothing. When I plug the charger in the light doesn't even come on. Did this solution solve the problem without having to take it on to be looked at?

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step

Set BIOS default and restart:

  1. Restart your notebook.
  2. During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu is displayed.
  3. Once the BIOS menu is displayed, press F9 to restore factory defaults.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. Press F10 to save changes and exit.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.
  7. The computer restarts using the default settings.

Please try with a different adapter and check.
