Pavillion DV7 6163US
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My laptop (Pavillion DV7 6163US ) will not power on. I have replaced the dc power cable that goes to the motherboard, replaced the AC adapter and battery and still when I plug in the AC adapter the LED on the DC plug does not come on and the laptop is unresponsive. It appears at this point that it could be a motherboard issue. Is there a specific component on the motherboard that is known to go bad on this model. Have I missed anything as far as trouble shooting. I did press the power button down to drain any residual power in the board before I tried to power on the laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

Please try these steps - Computer Does Not Start 

 

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
