I'm having the same problem that is happening out bnb of nowhere, with the same results. No lights to my keyboard, but the light alternates between the power and the USB without both being lit at the same time. I've only had this laptop for maybe 3 ish months so the motherboard being dead already would be ridiculous, especially since I spent $1700 on this laptop (Omen 8th gen i7 with a gtx 1070 and 16gb ddr4)

3 months and motherboard already dead... 

It could happen tho,  but it might be the bios, its worth a try ig 

 

I don't remember how to start the bios recovery 

I think its win + b + power button (hold it for 3sec and release) 

You should check that on hp's guide for that.
