Hello I haven problem with my notebook HP Compaq nc6320, when i turn it on a blue screen appears with the indication Power-on Password and keyicon.
I have tried different kind of methodes like removing the bios battery, enter a digit code but you can't see where you write it down the only screen you see is the blue screen with the Power-on Password.
I also made a usb boot bios recovery so when i press f9 and asked the pc to boot from usb flash drive the blue screen appears direct after it with the Power-on Password,
Any help please thank you
Cedric

Welcome to the HP Support Community @DjChaese78
This is from an old post of mine:
Different model but lets see if it works:
Remove AC, main battery and memory cover.
Then remove memory sim and plastic protector if under the sim.
Look for the gold contacts marked CMOS_CLR1.
Use small flat head screw driver to short contacts. “Do it 2-3 times.”
Replace plastic protector memory sim and memory cover
Not to sure if it is the same setup for this model???
We don't get many of these in anymore???

Hello thank you for your respons on my problem with the power on password blue screen problem.
I followed your steps but i can't find what you mention on your picture? I took two foto's and then you will see that it is not the same model like yours.
Thank you,
Cedric

Many of those older models have a set of jumpers like that.
But on yours I can see it does not.
So lets see:
Entering 3 wrong passwords does not produce a hash code???
Removing the AC, MAIN battery and the BIOS/RTC battery does nothing???
No CLR contacts to short???
Stringent Security is set:
Sorry @DjChaese78 thats all I have.
