Power on but screen black. Caps lock blinks 3 long and 2 short.

Hi @REHarris 

 

 

It is a memory error, the memory or the slot is damaged, or it is not compatible. Try opening the laptop and if it has two memory cards remove one and swap between slots, do the same with the other.
