Hi,

You're welcome :generic:

Regarding the subsequent issue, shut down the notebook.  Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu.  Select the Bios option ( f10 ) and under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on the Hard Drive.

Post back with the details of any error messages.

Long test passed
Short test passed
Memory test passed
They're pretty quick for the tests. Each test took like 1-2 seconds.

Hi,

It doesn't seem like the tests actually ran for some reason.

You could try to reset the notebook to its 'Factory Condition' and then set it up from the beginning – if you don’t have your Recovery Media, the notebook will have shipped with a Recovery Partition which can be accessed at boot - ie shutdown the notebook, then start tapping away at f11 as soon as you power on.

Okay. I give up. I think I'll just reformat this laptop now. I still have my bootable usb windows vista operating system and will go from there. Thank you very much, man!
