@SAURABH1123 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop don't respond after screen timeout.

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Please check the system file check.

1) Select Start, and in the search box, enter Command Prompt. Press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the search results and select Run as administrator.

2) Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the spaces before each "/").

3) Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").

windows 10 is with latest updates, with version 2004 & it's not going through any updates issues.

early it used to happen rarely but past 6 months, it's happening regularly.

if I switch options to 'never in Turn Off the Display' then everything is fine.

If I put "blank with Screen Saver wait to 10 mins" then also system is just fine.

does the CPU or HP hardware have any bug which is why "DEATH on Turn Off the Display" is happening ?

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!

I replaced the preinstalled HP's Windows 10 with sock Windows 10 version 2004 & haven't observed any issues since past 10 days.

all the reported problems have disappeared.

So was this happening due to BUG in HP's preinstalled Windows 10?
