product: W2K44UAR#ABA Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) So, my laptop boots into automatic repair, then goes to a black screen and nothing further happens. I opened the boot menu and ran a check, and it's telling me it's failing the hard drive dst check. There's an failure UCXDA3-8RR9QW-GXGGQJ-608B03

Hi:

 

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure, means the hard drive is about to fail, or has failed, needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

 

If you can still get into Windows, back up any files you don't want to lose onto a portable hard drive.  Then replace the drive.

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

You may want to consider purchasing a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

 

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 by using the cloud recovery tool to create installation media.
