HP Pavilion x360 - 15-dq1052nr
Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

My HP pavillion laptop, intel Core i5  that runs on Windows 10 powers on with a error message screen that displays details of battery stating it's poor and needs to be replaced due to like environmental factors (temperature?) and usage, but I had my battery replaced just few months ago. They leave me with a link that doesn't resolve my problem, so what do I do to resolve this issue? Very upset because of this warning symbol on battery and the laptop's battery has not held long usage at all since I purchased it.

Hello @Gabyy

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

Please < calibrate > your battery ...

(1) Open windows <device manager> and uninstall "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

- Right click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery"

- Click "Uninstall device"

- Confirm your choice if you see a popup notification

(2Shutdown notebook

(4) Press and hold <power> button for 30 seconds

(5) Connect charger and wait until battery is fully charged ( check LED indicator )

(6) Start notebook and log in to windows and wait a few minutes

(7) Reboot notebook

(8) Please report your results

I actually have not yet resolved this issue that I am having because it is all Battery related and perhaps removing the Microsoft compliant adapter method might cause further problems. I have HP Pavillion and still don't know whether the laptop is considered a notebook or something else..if not a notebook then the 1-8 step process could be for a different device and not mine. *shrug (i don't know)

Hello @Gabyy

No that's not the case. I've done a lot of battery calibrations that hp diagnostics is not able to do. The "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" will automatically reinstall on windows restart !

Kind regards
