Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

. 10 months ago, I had bad disk problem and re-installed window 10 again. Everything in PC worked fine, but the performance is getting slower each day.

. Usually I check emails and /or work online with running youtube  in the background w Google chrome.

. In the last few days  I got a lot of  "not response" / pc locked up when working on a large spreadsheet along with running youtube  in the background w Google chrome.

. I restarted the PC to get away from PC being locked up, it got a slow startup.

. Last night, instead startup, I got bios not found, system check : Smart Check: Passed but Short DST: failed.     So, it is a hard drive failure!

. However, when I pushed the start button to shut down and restart PC again, slowly but surely the PC / Window all back to live. (of cause, I hurried to backup all of my important files)

. Now, I am using PC's internet to ask this question :

What was going on with this PC problem?

Since my HP PC is a Laptop PC, I really put it on my lap / bed table working in bed. Well, the Laptop / hard disk is not always in a horizontal or firm  position. Would this vibrate the hard disk and causes hard disk damage?
