Product: HP Envy 17 Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have to restart the laptop any time I close the cover. The power light is still on but the screen is blank. I have to shut it off and restart. Can anyone help me. Thanks

Please perform a Power Drain, try getting to BIOS and let me know if you see the BIOS

 

You can refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01684768 for help with the Power Drain

 

Shut down the Notebook and upon restarting keep tapping on F10 till you see the BIOS
