Pavilion 15-ab023cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I had to replace the DC-IN power connector as the tip was broken.  Once I replaced the connector with a new one and plug in the power cable the solid white light appeared.  When I hit the power button the white light goes out and the laptop does not startup.  It acts like there is no power.

I have tried the hard restart, removing the battery and using power cord only, using the battery and no power cord.  Nothing seems to get the laptop to start to boot.

Any ideas of the cause? or remedy?

@GBurcham Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop will not boot.

As you have stated that you have already replaced the power connector.

The issue seems to be the hardware part. I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option.

They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Or you can contact local service center for repair.

Thanks for the reply but this did nothing.  No support number came up, the only support it offered (laptop is out of warranty) was a virtual assistant which was useless and the support community (this thread.)

Is there anyone that can actually answer a call that I can talk to?

@GBurcham

I understand your concerns.

You can contact our phone support or chat support. They will assist.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
