Product: Spectre 360

Hi there -

 

I installed a new hard drive as the old was crashing. The installation was easy but, I'm having issues rebooting the system; it's asking for the operating system :

" boot device not found"

"please install an operating system on your hard disk"

 

Can I down load the OS to a thumb drive and go from there? If so how?

 

Thanks in advance for any help.

When you say you "installed" it, you mean you only hooked it up?

 

A new drive is blank, so it will not boot.

 

If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.

The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
