Spectre x360 – 15-df1745ng

Hi,

my mid 2019 Spectre x360 is crashing about every third night in "Modern" Standby.

Before you post the usual answers: all drivers, operating system, HP Support Assistant, etc are up to date!

All checks have been done, nothing unusual.

I already disabled the network in both power connected as well as battery mode which helped a bit, reducing the crashes from basically every night to about every third night... Still, I would prefer "no night"...

As a side note, when it does not crash, it will still consume about 20% of battery or, if connected to the charger, be very hot in the morning...

The powercfg sleepstudy is not really helpful. With regards to the crashes, this is what it says: "This session contains no detailed information about top offenders.".

With regards to the absurd power usage, it is usually identifying "Intel(R) PCI Express Root Port #17 - A340 (\_SB.PCI0.RP17)" as the main culprit...

This is really driving me nuts and as I see when looking at different forums, literally millions of people seem to be struggling with Modern Standby.

Which leads me to a simple question: why can't you provide us with a BIOS with the good old and reliable S3 standby????

I read that Dell did so for it's XPS series after too many people had issues with modern standby...

One more thing: where can I change the battery charging mode (80% - 100%) from Windows? My old 2012 Sony Vaio had a neat little tool to do that. I really do not want to reboot the computer to do that since I sometimes know that I will be out in the afternoon and then charge up to 100% and then set it back to 80% in the evening...

Thank you,

Roland
