Hi @Upcreek ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you've already attempted some common troubleshooting steps. However, if your Star Wars Special Edition Notebook is still not responding, you might want to try a few additional steps:

External Display: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using the appropriate cable. This will help determine if the issue is with the laptop screen. If the external display shows the computer's output, the issue might be with the laptop's screen or its connection.

RAM Reseating: Turn off the laptop, disconnect the power source, and remove the battery. Open the RAM compartment (usually on the bottom of the laptop), reseat the RAM modules (take them out and put them back in), and then try turning on the laptop again.

BIOS/UEFI Reset: Try resetting the BIOS or UEFI settings. To do this, locate the CMOS battery on your laptop's motherboard, remove it for a few minutes, and then put it back. This will reset the BIOS settings to default.

Hard Drive/SSD Check: It's possible that the issue is with the storage drive. Try booting the laptop without the hard drive or SSD (if it's easily accessible). If the laptop displays any error messages or behaves differently, the drive might be faulty.

Safe Mode Boot: If you can get to the BIOS/UEFI settings, see if there's an option to boot into Safe Mode. This loads only essential drivers and may help diagnose if a specific driver is causing the issue.

Create a Bootable USB: Create a bootable USB drive with a live Linux distribution or a Windows installation. Boot from the USB drive and see if you can access the laptop's files. This will help you retrieve your important data.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
