System Recovery hangs up

Pavilion G Series
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

On power up I get a message flash, "Press The ESC Key for Start up menu".  I press ESC immediately, a menu flashes,

F1  ?

F2 System Diagnostics

F9 Boot Device Options

F10 BIOS Options

F11 System Recovery

Enter  Continue Start Up

For more information ???

It hangs no matter what key I hit.  If I hit F11 it seems to try something.  I see a Microsoft Corporation flash quickly, some arrows flash, then nothing.

Running Windows7

How can get the system to reboot from scratch.  I don't care about the files.

@GeneNokes

It's supposed to show that line about Esc when it boots.

You have to WAIT and not press anything, and then it should continue to the Windows login screen.

Good Luck

I tried waiting, but all I get is a blank screen.  Geek Squad thinks that the drive is bad, so we need to get a recovery disc for Windows 7 along with a new hard drive.
