Hi @ArunaBhara,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion 15 laptop is experiencing issues where the power button turns on briefly and then off without the laptop fully booting up, there could be several potential causes for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check the Power Adapter and Battery: Ensure that the power adapter is properly connected to both the laptop and a working power outlet. Also, try removing the battery and powering on the laptop using only the power adapter.
- Reset the Laptop: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve issues with laptops. To perform a reset, disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable). Then, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. After that, reconnect the power adapter (without the battery) and try turning on the laptop.
- Check for Hardware Issues: It's possible that there could be a hardware problem causing the issue. This could include faulty RAM, a malfunctioning hard drive, or other components. If you're comfortable doing so, you can try reseating the RAM and hard drive to ensure they are properly connected. If the laptop has recently been dropped or subjected to physical damage, this could also be a factor.
- Try External Display: Connect the laptop to an external monitor to see if you get any display output. If you do, it could indicate an issue with the laptop's built-in display.
- BIOS Reset: Resetting the BIOS settings to default could potentially resolve the issue. This typically involves accessing the BIOS menu during startup (often by pressing a specific key such as F2 or Del) and finding the option to reset to default settings.
- Check for Overheating: Overheating can sometimes cause laptops to shut down unexpectedly. Make sure the laptop's cooling vents are not blocked and that the internal fan is functioning properly. You can also use compressed air to clean out any dust buildup inside the laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
