Tried reseting my notebook expect it acts like it’s gonna go to the password screen expect it just r

Product Name: HP notebook stream 14
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
So I tried resetting my computer since it just seemed boring to have nothing to do on it although I could’ve just done something else. But I tried resetting it via settings on the computer and it acted as if it was but it just turned off then showed the HP sign. You know whenever you log in or you open your computer up and it shows the codes or when it types on the screen well it shows up but then goes blank to a black screen, going to the HP sign and repeating over again. Anyone know how to fix it or what I should do?

I understand you are having issues resetting your notebook back to the factory conditions. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you provide me with the exact model of the PC? Use this link to find it:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Did it happen after a recent software update?

Have you tried to run any test on the computer from F2?

 

In the meantime, let's try these steps here: 

 

Perform a Hard reset on the notebook

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

    If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Now try and check if the keyboard responds, If so, then try to run an extensive test on the system as well as an extensive test on the hard drive from F2(Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).

 

If the keyboard does not respond even after reset on the notebook, I would suggest here is to remove the hard drive and then try to connect it to another computer and check if the hard drive is accessible, If the hard drive is accessible then try to backup your data.

 

If for some reason, you are not able to access the hard drive then it's a possible hardware failure. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for further assistance.

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
