Hi All,
I need help to identify the part that is failing in my computer so that I can order a new one. I live in a very remote area so I do not have the option to go to a repair facility. I am having strange and consistant problems that I have not found a solution to online. If there is a knowledgable person that can help me diagnos my problem I would very much appreciate it.
The biggest problem that I have amoungst many issues is
1. My computer will crash and I get the blue screen that says there is a problem with my hard drive - press F2 to diagnos the problem - scan the memory and scan the hard drive - no problems. Nothing to fix. At this point I need to hard boot to restart my computer. I again comes up with the blue screen but this time I have the option to press Enter to retry and after a couple of times my computer will boot and work with no operating problems until the next time it crashes. Rinse and repeat. So apparently there is nothing wrong with my hard drive but the computer crashes and says that the hard drive is corrupt.
2. If I open the task manager and click on the performance tab my computer crashes. Repeat problem #1.
3. My WI-FI adapter has decided it does not exist. Don't know why. It just disappeared one day. I can get it back if I roll back the driver but if I do that then the computer crashes and repeat #1
4. My audio has decided to disappear. No idea why. Don't know how to fix it but at this point no audio is the least of my worries. Every time I find a solution it crashes my computer. Repeat #1. Is never the same problem twice.
This has been getting continuously worse for the past year. Is my hard drive really failing? Will getting a new one fix my issues? Is my motherboard dying? Do I need a new one? Is there something else that could be an issue? Is has to be a hardware or bios problem as I have reformatted the twice and updated from Windows 8 to Windows 10 while doing a complete format and reboot.
I have a relative coming to visit me next month that can bring me the part I need if I can figure out what part that is. Can someone please help me troubleshoot this issue?
Thank you for your time and consideration

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting multiple issues with your notebook, I am glad to assist you.
Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
- HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also, ensure Windows is up to date.
- Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.

Good Day, I have attempted to use the solution you offered but my computer is confused. I cannot look for updates using the support assistant as is states that I am not connected to the internet. Following directions I did a network diagonstic and it states that I am connected with no problems. The only way to fix my network so that it can be detected is to roll back the driver to a previous one. However, when I do that the whole system becomes unstable and crashes continuously until I update the driver again. Suggestions?
